Lyrical Sunday: The Boy


She watches him,  standing still, for once,
 A child still, looking for whales and dolphins,
Searching for  mermaids and krakens,
The man he will be, falls behind him, 
a shadow of the child will remain,
when one day he sits, like she does,
watching his son.
