Liebster Award

Paul has passed on the Liebster Award for blogs with under 200 followers. 

In the accepting of the award, I have to highlight five blogs with less than 200 followers and highlight the blogger who awarded me.

Paul is new to the world of blogging. He is a teacher by day and composer and singer by night. His blog has links to his wonderful songs and his book and CD set. Have a look - I promise you'll be impressed.

My nominees:

Lien - a blogger in Auckland with a two year old. I love her photographs and small insights into life up north. She is also a bit of a geek, which appeals to me!

Finding My Happily Ever After -This lady has guts! She is using her little space in the blogosphere to bare her soul. I am in awe of her bravery and am sure you will be too.

Tina  - A blogger I would LOVE to have a coffee with. She is honest, real, loud-mouthed and a working mum who seems to have it pretty well-balanced until life or her four year old throws a curve ball. I love the optimism in her posts even if it's about sad topics. If ever I am in the USA I am looking her up!

Esther - my real life friend who is a scrapbooker extraodinaire (or however you spell super-dooper-awesome!) I love looking at her site and going "Wow, I wish I could do that..." - I can't hence I commission her talents once in a while :)

Kate - basically a blog about pretty nails. I have never been one for nail polish but I swear that looking at what she creates, makes me want to do pretty nails. Have a look and be inspired. (sh*t - just checked and she clocked her 200...) 

An Award.

This weekend Lea and Paul both nominated me for the "Tell me about yourself" Award. Which made me all happy and giggly, and then confused as surely I have already shared everything there is too know about me. Then I remembered that I am more than a few posts on a blog. I have many things left to share.

To accept my award I have to tell you SEVEN things about myself and then nominate FIFTEEN (unlikely to happen) bloggers...

Here goes:

1. I once got stuck on top of a pig sty wall in my special birthday dress.
2. I cannot follow a recipe to the letter, I have to add flair!
3. I have never been arrested. 
4. My ideal holiday would be a cruise to Alaska. Or a trip through Vietnam. I can't decide which is the one I would choose if I had to make the choice. 
5. I hate shoe shopping.
6. I am pro-choice. 
7. I love looking at crafty things and patterns etc but I can't make them to save my life.

Kreativ Blogger Award

Skymum nominated me for this award. I love awards, especially when they help me discover new blogs. Skymum is new to blogging and is finding her rhythm. She is very honest and real in the way she blogs about her life as a newly single mum. And she is in Roller Derby so her blog could be completely shite and I'd still love it.

But as I have only recently approached people to accept an award -

1. You are going into space for a year, who would you take with you?
   Stud1, Monkey, a barista, and my mum.
2. When was the last time you hugged a tree?
   Lol - about three weeks ago with Monkey in the park.
3. If you were a superhero what would your name be?
   LatteJunkie - d'uh!
4. If you could be the opposite sex for a day what would you do?
   Where to start? Pee standing up, find snow and write my name in it, hit on the hottest chick in the bar and then get all offended when she laughs at me, time myself to see if I really did think about sex every 11 seconds (or whatever that statistic is), play air guitar like a maniac, parallel park, scratch my balls, have sex with a woman, punch someone, get into a bar fight, have lunch....
5. When was the last time you had a fight with yourself?
   I am continually fighting with myself. Have you not read this blog before?
6. If you were a rubber duck where would you be?
   Floating in the sea
7. What TV show would you be watching right now if you could?
   Gilmore Girls or Parenthood.
8. Irrational fear?
   I don't know if it's a fear but I have a "thing" about textured paint - it looks like it moves and it creeps me out!
9. Naughtiest thing you have ever done?
   Ann Summers Party, pleasure gel, my nose, French maid outfit - 'nuff said!
10. What would you like your last words to be?
    That was the best coffee EVER!

It's one that I have seen and often wondered if I am versatile enough to warrant getting the award... Apparently I am!!

Now onto SEVEN things about me...

1. I am the eldest of two.
2. I am right handed.
3. I was known as the class mouse in high school as I never spoke unless spoken to.
4. I went to college and started religious debates based on the reading of Sylvia Plath
5. I can't draw to save my life.
6. I only developed a love for yorkshire puddings AFTER leaving the UK.
7. My favourite slippers are ones I bought at Kathmandu (hiking store) I am not a hiker and never buy anything outdoorsy but these slippers rock!

Now onto my 15 which I probably will make ten, if I'm lucky...

I also think I am supposed to tell you why they are wonderful and worth reading... But my reading list is so diverse that I am not sure how to best describe them. I love them because they are real. They are not afraid to tell it like it is. They don't mask the bad or downplay the good. Sometimes they plain out bitch... othertimes they ask for help, or just inspire. They are on my reading list and I never skip their posts. I hope you visit a few of them...
