Lyrical Sunday - Shapes

In shape

Constantly, I am told, to be in shape,
That I am out of shape
That I mustn't get bent out of shape
That I should actively shape my world.
I must know if I am an apple or a pear,
Because then everything will be ship-shape.
That I have more than one dimension, I should
Reshape myself to fill a new gap.
I must not be shaped by people, unknown.
I must fit into a box,
and must think outside of it.
I must not be the square peg in the round hole.
I must fit in.
I must be in shape.
