Five Friday Favourites at Five

After a short break, I am back on board. Here are my five favourites of this week.

  • ME. Yes you read that right. This week, I make it onto my top 5 list! Unprecedented, I know. But I am proud of myself this week. I met a mum and her two kids last week, this week we went for a play date. I had a great time and so did Monkey. It was quite a big step and I am so glad she asked us over and that we went.

I am proud because I am actually quite reserved and find it hard to make friends. This is quite well masked by my nervous chatter and learnt ability to chat with random people. I have Stud1 to thank for that learning curve... He used to be the tall, brooding, silent type and I would have to do the talking...

    So YAY me!!
  • Having a "snorting coffee out my nose" moment when I read Jenny the Blogess' latest offering... "No one makes cards for this"
  • Reading Tina's post On Finding Joy which reminded me to find the little things that make me happy, especially when they are the little things like watching a sunrise or having a coffee, and holding hands with Monkey.

The view from our new apartment on the 27th floor.

  • In the wake of Steve Jobs death, I was sent a link to his Stanford University Commencement Speech. (Text only here)
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
    Steve Jobs

  1. How sad to read about Steve Jobs! I think I'm a bit like you on the making friends side of things, very proud of you for putting yourself out there! Jenny the Blogess is absolutely hilarious! What a beautiful view!
