Lyrical Sunday at Catching the Magic

Colours

the fading colours of summer
rusting into autumn
remind us the bleakness is yet to come.

the wine colours
warm us before the chill,
cosseting the heart, ahead of the ice-white

as summer bleeds
our hearts yearn for the warmth
the flame leaves bring
