Dear Upcoming Starlet,
I have never met you and can only judge you by the tabloid exposes and paparazzi snaps, but I wanted to let you know how disappointed I am at your behaviour. I feel personally let down that you abused your chance to influence the majority of young people.
I understand that with fame comes a loss of privacy and your life becomes public record. This may be hard to deal with but it is a choice you made. And while I believe that you deserve your own space and privacy being aware of your actions in a public arena should be of paramount importance.
However, you seem to have forgotten that there are young (and old) women the world over who look to you for inspiration and leadership. By not wearing knickers, boobs popping out, sleeping with Mr X while dating Mr Z, dieting to the point of starvation, changing your looks to suit the media, you are courting the media's attention. This precocious behaviour is then shown across the world as the typical behaviour of a teen/twenty-something and it is what young women copy and aspire to. With the instant news, tweeting etc there is seldom a context to anything, it's just there. By tomorrow, hundreds if not thousands of young girls are doing the same and young boys are expecting them to.
I'd like to leave you with this thought...
What would your future daughter or son say?
Thank you for reading this,
