Belief.

A fragile thing, a simple belief,
I based my life on it.
Trusted it in the dark
Built on it, in the quiet moments
Invested in it, on golden days
Held it close, during the storms
Threw it in their faces
Defended it, despite the wars
Of emotions, common sense and fear
Always it was with me
My unfailing belief in forever.
